The iconic Pedrali chair winner of the XXII Compasso d'Oro ADI on display to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Marie Claire Maison
In honor of the 20th anniversary of Marie Claire Maison Italia, the homes featured in the magazine transcend the confines of two-dimensional pages and come to life in physical space. This is the concept of "Le Case di Carta", an exhibition curated by Domitilla Dardi – a curator and design historian –, whose layout is entrusted to architects Alberto Artesani and Frederik De Wachter of DWA Design Studio. The exhibition focuses on the theme of transformation, taking a journey through twenty years of the magazine's paper pages, shaping five living scenarios.
Frida, designed by Odo Fioravanti, takes center stage in "La casa pura", a space dominated by the clarity of geometry, understood as the purity of line-form, and devoid of strictly rationalist settings. Winner of the XXII ADI Compasso d’Oro for its "simple sculptural beauty", Frida is a chair that combines beauty, cutting-edge technology and love for details. The solid oak structure is combined with the three-dimensional plywood shell to give shape to an extremely light, ergonomic and resistant chair.
"La casa tecno-craft" is an exhibition space that interprets decoration as a primary need of living, which today takes on new meanings, thanks to the multiplication of production equipment and expressive languages. This space will be brought to life by the decorative elements of the unico project - designed by DWA Design Studio, in collaboration with Pedrali – showcasing a combined process where reuse merges with craftsmanship, through a waste reduction through recycling operation.
