pedrali in barcelona for the opening of the new consulate general of italy
08 Jul, 2021The New Consulate General of Italy in Barcelona was opened on 7 July 2021, in its new seat in Calle Aribau 185, in the presence of Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, Consul General Gaia Danese, Director General for administration, information technology and communications Nicandro Cascardi, Major of Barcelona Ada Colau and Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Benedetto Della Vedova.
The round table organised in partnership with Interni Magazine entitled “Design for the Institutions, the value of the Italian System”, saw the participation of leading Italian design companies that contributed to the interior design of the space, including Pedrali.
In her speech, Monica Pedrali underlined the importance of synergies between Italy and Spain resulting in projects and products: “Spanish architects appreciate Made in Italy design and often include Italian furnishings in their projects. According to them, furniture assumes a social value and cares for subjects such as environmental sustainability and inclusive technological innovation, respectful of their culture. Then there are the designers, whose talent draws inspiration from the desire to humanize objects, to design products that allow us to live better, depositaries of a circular beauty”.
The Dome armchairs designed by Odo Fioravanti and the Plural system designed by Jorge Pensi have been selected to furnish this space, which stems from the collaboration between the architectural firm Imad, Lagranja design studio for the interiors and Michela Mezzavilla for the lighting design.
