frida chair by Odo Fioravanti chosen as an example of italian expertise
Created in Italy is an exhibition curated by Odo Fioravanti, Giulio Iacchetti and Francesca Picchi staging a passionate narration of the italian know-how. The second leg inaugurated on 3 september 2022 at the LCI Melbourne Institute, before the local authorities.

The exhibition seeks to offer a broad picture of the italian industrial system. Without claiming to be exhaustive, it is an introduction to the staggering variety of objects and constellations of artefacts that are the hallmarks of italian industry, helping to describe the complexity of typically italian manufacturing qualities.

Among the products there is frida chair, designed by Odo Fioravanti for Pedrali. First launched in 2008 at the XXXII edition of promosedia, frida won the top chair residential award in 2008 and was selected by the ADI Design Index in 2009. In 2011, frida won the XXII Compasso d’Oro ADI, the oldest and most influential international design award in the world, for its "simple sculptural beauty". Extremely light and resistant, in solid oak structure, in the year of its presentation frida explored new possibilities in the field of woodworking. The most extraordinary feature is the superposition of a three-dimensional shell on a solid wood frame. The result is a sturdy, yet extremely cosy chair characterized by lightness and resistance.
